Wong Fu Productions.
So I decided to buy their VIP tickets in the hope of getting picked as one of the 20 lucky draws to have brunch with them but unfortunately, there was a mixed up with the numbers and I got rejected. :(
Honestly, I didn't feel satisfied with the whole event. Firstly, isn't VIP ticket holders suppose to get some kind of advantage over general admission ticket holders? Then why is the ratio of VIP to GA like 65165161: 1. GAH SO PISSED SO VERY VERY PISSED! Maybe I'm just PMS-ing right now but I've been wanting to talk to WFP personally all my life; not just watching them talk! By the time I went inside the auditorium the middle seats were all full and only the side ones were left. :( which nobody notices. SIGHHHHH. I mean watching them talk on stage didn't make a difference as when I watch them on youtube. Urgh, what a waste of money! What's more the meet and greet was so freaking brief. They didn't even let us take pictures with them. At least do something for the VIP ticket holders lah. Ish! @$%!#$%@#$^@
OKlah, whatever. Too emo to post anything happy right now. :/

Faulty Change Plan # 5 James MacDonald, Senior Pastor of Harvest Bible Chapel
Another faulty method that has promised to bring about change among Christians we call monasticism. Monastic comes from the Greek word, monos, which meansto be alone. The early monks actually lived alone in the desert. The first monastic community was St. Anthony of Thebes in 271 A.D. Monks practiced three main things: work, prayer, and meditation. The goal of being a Monastic was true holiness by complete suppression of the will or the flesh. Very popular during the Middles Ages, thousands of monasteries around Europe housed men or women who took three vows: a vow of poverty, I will own nothing, a vow of chastity, I will abstain from all sexuality, and a vow of obedience, 100% submission to authority. It was a very difficult life. And it failed to bring about the kind of basic change that each of us needs.
You (and I) do not have the ability to live the Christian life. God has made no provision for you to live the Christian life apart from Him. Christianity is not trying harder or doing more. Christianity is an intimate, personal relationship with Jesus Christ who is alive and lives His life by His Spirit through you. Christianity is the Holy Spirit living in us.
“I don’t know what to do.” The Spirit convicts me of right and wrong.
“I don’t know what to say.” The Spirit convicts me what to say.
“I don’t know how to handle this.” The Spirit helps me with my infirmities because I know not how to do what I ought.
Monastic change tries to use human employed spiritual techniques to suppress the flesh: “I won’t do it! I won’t do it!” And here’s the reason why that doesn’t work. If you’ve ever failed in a diet—I certainly have done that—you know the tendency. You try and try to do the right thing. But when (not if) you fail, you do the wrong thing on steroids. Even the classic spiritual disciplines like Bible study, prayer, and fasting, have no power to bring about necessary change unless they are empowered by the Holy Spirit.
I don’t have the power to change myself. That’s monastic change—it doesn’t work. Put that in a bag and take it to the street.
Journal:
- What are the differences between the disciplines of the Christian life undertaken as a personal effort and undertaken under the power of the Holy Spirit?
- Where have I experienced this difference in my relationship with Christ?
Prayer: Father, I need to be reminded over and over again that growing as a believer doesn’t ever mean I outgrow my need for You to empower, guide, and sustain my life as a Christian. Thank You for Your faithfulness not only to help me see what needs to be changed but then applying Your power to bring about that change in me. I count on that life-changing power in Jesus’ name, Amen.

James MacDonald - Pointless Pursuits.
17 So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me, for all is vanity and a striving after wind. 18 I hated all my toil in which I toil under the sun, seeing that I must leave it to the man who will come after me, 19 and who knows whether he will be wise or a fool? Yet he will be master of all for which I toiled and used my wisdom under the sun. This also is vanity . . . 24 There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God, 25 for apart from him who can eat or who can have enjoyment? —Ecclesiastes 2:17-19, 24-25
God has made you in such a way that you have a longing for fulfillment common to every person in your family tree past or future (see Ecclesiastes 3:11). The most basic thing that we’re all “endowed with by our Creator” is “eternity in their hearts.” Every discussion of the nature of man or meaning or ministry must begin with this reality. Humans are unique among the living in that there is at the core of all of us a hunger for something that the experiences of this planet cannot satisfy.
If ever there was a human being who strolled down every avenue of potential satisfaction without finding it, that man was Solomon. From alcohol to sex with a different woman every day, Solomon explored all conceivable iterations of lifestyles of the rich and famous. From musical creativity to maximum opulence to palaces and rolling estates that run to the horizon, he had the means to do it all—and he did.
Yet his tears of frustration are easily heard in his words. He had it all but he said: "So I hated life, because what is done under the sun was grievous to me, for all is vanity. . ." (Ecclesiastes 2:17). Vanity means emptiness. He confessed: “I experienced everything that's possible, and it was worthless to me. Vanity and striving after the wind.”
Solomon discovered what so many fail to conclude: history is a repetitive loop of personal and societal futility. Everything is ultimately empty, and human experience is much more common than diverse, more universal than unique. We are all the same. And Solomon rightly concludes that fulfillment must come from a source outside of ourselves: "There is nothing better for a person than that he should eat and drink and find enjoyment in his toil. This also, I saw, is from the hand of God" (Ecclesiastes 2:24).
God made things this way. It's in your DNA. God himself made you in such a way that you can never find satisfaction in anything in this world. His point is so clear and compelling. Any discussion of meaning in life must be based on the understanding that God designed us and He included in our make-up a longing for Him.
Journal
- What are some of the ways that I know I experience a deep longing for God?
- In what ways have I struggled with the temptation to meet my desire for God with lesser things of this world?
Prayer
Thank You Father, for giving me the desire for You long before I realized that I was desiring You! Thank You for keeping me even when I was missing, avoiding, and ignorant of Your love and grace. And thank You for filling that void in my life with the only thing that could meet my deepest need—Yourself. In Jesus’ name, who made this possible, Amen!

Actually there's loads of things going on in my mind but I just don't have the time to type them all here cause look at the time; it's 12.20am already. I was so dead tired from the tests that I slept straight away after college. So I shall postpone my thoughts for another day. Till then, have a great day.
P/S: I wish I had longer holidays! I see my friends enjoying life while I'm stuck here with my books. Booooo. :(

Alice.
Just like Alice, I feel like I've lost my muchness. Dear children, keep away from anything that might take God's place in your hearts. - 1 John 5:21"
Oh heart of mine, why must you stray?
From one so fair you run away
And one more time you have to pay
The heaviness of needless shame
Oh heart of mine, come back home
You've been too long out on your own
And He's been there all along
Watching for you down the road
So come home running
His arms are open wide
His name is Jesus
He understands
He is the answer
You are looking for
So come home running
Just as you are
Oh child of God so dearly loved
And ransomed by the Savior's blood
And called by name, daughter and son
Wrapped in the robe of righteousness
His arms are open wide
His name is Jesus
He understands
He is the answer
You are looking for
So come home running
Just as you are
